The Savory Grape in East Greenwich hosted a Bold Fall Reds wine education and tasting event on Oct. 26 with special guest Master Sommelier Emily Pickral, one out of just over two dozen women master sommeliers in the world. Master Sommelier is the highest distinction a wine professional can have. Only 172 Americans have earned the diploma—144 men and 28 women. Pickral, who has held various roles in the industry over the past decades, serves as the Brand Ambassador and Estates Educator for Jackson Family Wines, whose global collection of vineyards and wineries include those located in California, Oregon’s Willamette Valley, France, Italy, Chile, Australia and South Africa. Pickral showcased bold red portfolio offerings from Jackson Family Wines, including Hickinbotham Merlot, Mt. Brave Cabernet, Stonestreet Cabernet, Jackson Estates Cabernet and Freemark Abbey Cabernet, all available via MS Walker of Rhode Island.
