Slocum & Sons hosted a bartending competition featuring the talents of eight local bartenders during its annual fall trade tasting at The Inn at Longshore in Westport on Sept. 12. Using select spirits from Slocum & Sons’ portfolio, bartenders were given time to create and test their cocktails just prior to the competition. Then, they made their best cocktails for a panel of judges: Derek Gipson, The Fine Wine Company, Westport; Katrice Claudio, Freelance Writer and Producer, NPR’s “Seasoned” Podcast; and Girish Patel, Director, Bottle Stop Wine & Spirit Superstore. The winners were: First place: Trevor Rosetta, Mecha Noodle Bar; Second place: Jeff Lately, La Plage; and Third place: Daniel Rodas, Nostrano Italian Eatery.
