Mendoza-based Trivento and U.S. importer Excelsior Wines are expanding distribution of “White Orchid,” an innovative blend of 85% Torrontes, Argentina’s flagship white grape, with 15% Pinot Grigio. The result is an off-dry, lighter framed white, with a relatively modest alcohol level of 12%. Notes of flowers, pineapple, chamomile and white pepper associated with Torrontes combine on the palate with golden apple and citrus fruit identified with Pinot Grigio, leading into a long finish.
