
Underberg, the digestif bitter produced in Germany by Underberg AG and made of a “secret recipe” of aromatic herbs from 43 countries, was highlighted at The Grange during The Underberg Experience on March 11, 2014. Organized by Bar Manager Joseph Haggard, the event took a cue from Underberg’s packaging: “it cannot be explained: it must be experienced.” USBG RI members and guests experienced and experimented with the 44% alcohol digestif. Two things are unmistakable about Underberg: its “distinctly beneficial effect” and the characteristic single portion bottle wrapped in straw paper. It is available through M.S. Walker.
