
The University Club in Providence hosted its annual Black Tie Event Honoring Health Care Heroes on Dec. 6, 2021. Held in recognition of local health care workers, the gala featured Dr. Megan Ranney, MPH, Emergency Physician and Researcher and Associate Dean for Strategy & Innovation, Brown School of Public Health as guest speaker, with live music by Doug James Quintet and special guest, Sugar Ray Norcia. Guests enjoyed cuisine by Executive Chef Dr. Gary Comella and his team, along with fine wines and a special highlight, a Roederer Estate Brut Champagne tower. Representatives from MS Walker, including Ian Magiros, On Premise Key Account Specialist and Owen Thorpe, Sales Representative, were in attendance to pour and discuss wine selections. Featured wines included Roederer Estate Brut Champagne, Vigneti Le Monde Pinot Grigio, Domaine Paul Buisse Touraine Sauvignon Blanc and Carpe Diem Cabernet Sauvignon. A premier gathering place set in a historical environment, the University Club was founded in 1899 for literary, scientific, artistic, athletic and social pursuits, hosting member and private events on the grounds.

- Roederer Estate Brut is the first California sparkling wine produced by Champagne Louis Roederer from its 200-year tradition of fine winemaking. The grapes for the Anderson Valley wines are grown on the estate.
