
The United States Bartenders Guild Connecticut (USBG CT) chapter, along with Allan S. Goodman and Eder Bros., Inc., held their eighth event out of a series of 10 in the “Connecticut Civil War Bartending Competition” at The Loft in South Norwalk on August 8. Competing USBG CT chapter members featured Boodles Gin in their cocktail submissions. Conrad Meurice, Elm City Social, won first place in the competition, followed by Craig Ventrice, Kawa Ni and The Whelk, taking second and Patrick Martin, The National, winning third place. On August 22, the ninth event was held at Max Fish, where competitors created cocktails featuring Coppersea Corn Whiskey. Anthony DeVito won first place, followed by Justin Morales in second and Aaron Stepka in third. The final, featuring Fernet Branca, was set for September 12 at Mezzo Grille in Middletown. A recap will be in the November issue of The Beverage Journal. Each winner from the previous competitions will compete for the final top slot.
