
The United States Bartenders’ Guild of Rhode Island (USBG RI) hosted an industry meet-up and educational event featuring Giffard Liqueurs at The East End in Providence on March 26. Ben Terry, Craft Brand Manager, Horizon Beverage Company and USBG RI chapter Board Member, led trade guests through the Giffard product line. Founded in 1885, the Loire Valley, France-based Giffard company offers more than 20 flavored liqueurs and spirits, now in its fifth generation of family operation. Guests enjoyed specialty cocktails featuring Giffard Liqueurs along with dishes prepared by The East End kitchen team.
- Giffard Rhubarbe Liqueur, Bigallet Thym Liqueur and Vermouth Routin’s Chambery Blanc were showcased.
- Bob Wagner, Regional Manager – New England/Mid-Atlantic, Back Bar Project; Kayleigh Speck, Bar Manager, The East End; Kristine Dunphy, USBG Board Member and General Manager, Barnaby’s Public House; Ben Terry, Craft Brand Manager, Horizon Beverage Company and USBG RI Board Member; and Elizabeth Sawtelle, General Manager, Nicks on Broadway and USBG RI Board Member.
- The newest Giffard liqueur flavor, Rhubarbe, made from the infusion of green and red rhubarb chunks. Sample sizes enabled USBG RI guests to create their own cocktails.
- The three signature cocktails created for the event, the Spritzah!, the Canasta De Flores and the Banana Hammock, each showcased a Giffard liqueur expression.
