Negroni Week was celebrated across the country and in Connecticut throughout participating venues during Sept. 16-22. Campari and Imbibe magazine presented the 12th annual Negroni Week, an international charity initiative dedicated to celebrating the world-renowned cocktail with the common goal of raising funds for charitable causes. More than four dozen Connecticut venues participated, including New Haven’s Camacho Garage, Gioia, Ordinary, Olives and Oil and Sherkaan Indian Street Food; Branford’s 1928 Cocktail Club; Danbury’s Mariposa Taqueria; and Norwalk’s Magic 5 Pie Co., Taco Guy and El Segundo, in raising funds and offering classic and creative variations of the iconic Negroni cocktail. Proceeds raised from Negroni sales during the weeklong event benefit the initiative’s official nonprofit partner Slow Food, a global movement dedicated to sustainability, equity and diversity in food and drink, with the goal that all people have access to good food that is also environmentally safe and fairly priced.
