The Weekapaug Inn in Westerly hosted an outdoor Brewmaster’s Dinner highlighting von Trapp beer on July 15, along with the distributor team from McLaughlin & Moran, Inc. Sam von Trapp, Owner of von Trapp Brewing in Stowe, Vermont, was the evening’s special guest. The son of Johannes von Trapp, the youngest son in the Trapp Family Singers, Sam discussed the history of his famous family who inspired the classic film “The Sound of Music,” as well as the history and method of Austrian brewing techniques for the namesake beer line. Guests enjoyed offerings including von Trapp Helles Golden Lager, Bohemian Pilsner, Vienna Style Lager, Dunkel Dark Lager and Kölsch Style Ale, each paired with the creative, German-inspired dishes for each course.
