Wally’s Wieners
464 Thames Street
Newport, RI

Wally’s Wieners began when owners and husband and wife Morgan and Brad Head opened their first mobile hot dog cart in 2016. The cart was so popular that the couple soon expanded into a brick-and-mortar location on Thames Street in 2022, broadening their menu to include smash burgers, fried chicken sandwiches and milkshakes along with the celebrated Cranston-based Saugy, Inc., hot dogs that they are known for. Wally’s recently began serving breakfast and still brings streetside service to customers with its Wiener Wagon. Guests will find a variety of beverages on the menu, including beer, wine and craft cocktails. Espresso Martinis are a favorite option, and guests can choose from a number of variations, all using Wally’s house espresso blend with beans from a Middletown-based coffee roaster. “Since Wally’s has opened, the Espresso Martini list has dominated the beverage program,” said Assistant General Manager Zach Schavone, who created all of the venue’s cocktails. “We offer 11 different kinds on our menu, a special that changes monthly and any one of our different flavors can be upgraded to a shareable 48-ounce martini glass.”

“We use the changing of the seasons and different trends within the beverage industry to give us inspiration for our monthly special,” Schavone said. “We take pride in using a local coffee roaster (Custom House Coffee in Middletown) for all our espresso beans that are ground and freshly brewed in house. Additionally, we use a local, high-quality vodka, Borghetti Caffè Espresso Liqueur and the freshest ingredients to create and emulate some of the most popular flavored iced coffee drinks on the market.”
