Worldwide Wines fêted the launch of new Champagnes from Miraval with a trade tasting and brand education at L’Escale in Greenwich on Oct. 16. Alexis Blondel, Assistant Winemaker, Fleur de Miraval, was in attendance to present the brand’s new wines to guests and give a background on its winemaking processes. New to the market is the brand’s ER4 (Exclusivement Rosé 4) Champagne Fleur de Miraval, which is crafted from a unique blend of white and rosé wines made from 25% young Pinot Noir grapes and 75% multiple aged Chardonnays. Fleur de Miraval’s ER series is the “most blanc de blancs rosé ever created,” referring to its use of white wine made from Chardonnay grapes. Petite Fleur de Miraval Brut Rosé Champagne gives strong notes of peony and hawthorn flowers with flavors of red fruit and notes of citrus. The latest edition has been made from a base of the 2019 vintage with 95% Chardonnay grapes and 5% Pinot Noir, aged in lees in the winery’s dark cellars for three years. The Miraval brand is owned by the Perrin family and Brad Pitt.
