Worldwide Wines welcomed two new California wines from famed Napa Vintner, Russell Bevan, who has earned 15 100-point wines in his career, including the only 100-point wine in the 2011 vintage, from Elyse Winery. Elyse Winery specializes primarily in vineyard-designated red wines, including their Mitchell Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and Old Vine Zinfandel. Addax, also crafted by Russell Bevan, is an artisan winery founded by Brian Kearney and Josh Peeples, first beginning as a project with a few barrels of Cabernet in 2009 and evolving into a sought-after portfolio of wines, including Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon, Petaluma Gap, Sta. Rita Pinot Noir and a selection of Sonoma Chardonnays. New wines to Connecticut include Elyse Holbrook Mitchell Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, Elyse Old Vines Zinfandel 2019, Addax Sonoma Pinot Noir 2019 and Addax Sonoma Chardonnay 2019.
- Elyse Holbrook Mitchell Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, a classic, single-vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, full-bodied with earthen notes, and Elyse Old Vines Zinfandel 2019, offering spice and pepper, ripeness and power, finishing with crisp acidity.
- Addax Sonoma Pinot Noir 2019, a 100% Pinot Noir aged 18 months in new French barrels, is a medium-bodied wine with an exotic palate and plush tannins, and Addax Sonoma Chardonnay 2019, a medley of golden apple and bosc pear with refreshing acidity to balance its creamy finish.
