Worldwide Wines, in collaboration with Oak Haven Table & Bar, hosted a “Real Rum Runner” bartending and cocktail competition highlighting The Real McCoy Rum on August 27. Local bartenders competed to create the “perfect cocktail” using The Real McCoy 3 Year and The Real McCoy 5 Year while also being judged on their Rum Runner persona, which each competitor created for the event, including a backstory and costume. The top three winners were Chelsea Bowler of Home, who took home first place; Evan Vazquez of Shell & Bones, who placed second; and Ryan White of Oak Haven Table & Bar, who placed third. Crafted in the spirit of pioneer rumrunner Bill McCoy, The Real McCoy rums are made in small batches using blackstrap molasses and spring water with no added sugars or perfumes.
- The award-winning suite of The Real McCoy Rum line is small-batch and artisan-crafted. Its 3-, 5-, and 12-Year Aged Straight Rums are named after Bill McCoy, the pioneer rumrunner of the Prohibition era.
